How the Humble and Meek Shall Inherit the Earth
When Jesus of Nazareth said: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth," he wasn't just talking about a pipe dream. He said it because preceding Jewish prophets like Isaiah had said it too, as had the prophets of most other religions of the world.
The fact, however, is that it cannot happen until humanity has sufficiently evolved and advanced enough to see the fruitless, vain folly of fighting for power over each other, thinking that your wealth or religion or race or nationality entitles you to rule.
Nevertheless, the time will come when humble, gentle, peaceful and "meek" majority of people in the world shall indeed inherit the earth, because most of us understand and at least try to live by the golden rule which is The Universal Divine Imperative that is common to all religions and all good laws of our lands. We realize we should treat others as we would want to be treated if we were them.
That is why most human beings in the world at least try to abide by the real and true spiritual values that have to do with universal love, peace, freedom, equality, justice, mutual respect, fairness, empathy, compassion, understanding, tolerance, forgiveness, charity, and pacifism.
The idea is that faith in God and the goodness in Man will ultimately be rewarded, and that truth will prevail over falsehoods, love will prevail over hate, good will prevail over evil, and the ideal of generous sharing will prevail over greed and selfishness.
Unfortunately, the good, humble and gentle people cannot inherit the earth as long as proud and militant groups are fighting for power over each other, many of whom claim they are "religious" and/or "patriotic." And as long as the proud and aggressive rule, the humble and meek cannot inherit the earth.
Therefore, everyone needs to realize that just as patriotism can be the greatest refuge of scoundrels, so can religiosity be the greatest refuge of hypocrites.
Unfortunately, scoundrels and hypocrites are fighting either to maintain their hold on power, or to regain power. They are the problem, and they are as the blind leading their blind flocks astray.
Prophecy cannot be fulfilled as long as unfaithful, aggressive hypocrites who falsely claim to be Christians or Muslims or Jews have the influence and power to cause so much conflict, division, violence, death and destruction in the world. And they will have influence and power as long as their spiritually blind flocks continue to support them, do their bidding, and give them power.
The Divine Intervention and Intercession
Fortunately, as all the greatest prophets foresaw and foretold, there is a divine intervention, intercession and judgment that will, in due time, expose bad and divisive leadership that masquerades as good, and render them powerless and contrite in the face of truth.
That intervention is not imposed. It is offered. For it is the prophesied message from the Spirit of truth, delivered by its principal messenger, which not only delivers judgment, but guides us unto truth, and shows us things to come. And the Spirit of truth tells us that those who realize their error, become contrite of spirit, repent, and make amends, will be forgiven.
This is part of that promised judgment, and the son of man has been trying to get this message across for two and a half decades. But, most people have rejected it, and some even hate it because it doesn’t suit their agenda regarding the acquisition and holding of personal power, wealth and domain, nor does it suit their ideas about the superiority of their religion or nation or race or culture.
Fortunately, the Spirit of truth has been working through many other progressive, conscientious people as well, which is why we are seeing growing demand for justice and some possibilities for change for the better. More people are beginning to realize what the real problems are, and beginning to understand how and why so many people have been misled, so the message may soon spread wider and the rejection of the message may soon come to an end.
The message is political by necessity, because hypocritical Theocrats calling themselves Jews, Christians and Muslims want control of their governments even though governments should respect all religions.
However, the growing conflict is almost as much concerning "religion" as it is concerning political economic systems, because much of the trouble in the world has been caused by hypocrites who claim to be religious. Therefore, let's consider the religious aspect.
This message uses terminology referring to the Judeo-Christian religions because Christians comprise the largest population on earth, and the next largest population is Muslims, who are supposed to honor the teachings of Jesus according to their prophet Muhammad. But we favor no religion over others, and we advocate a reformation of all religions, particularly the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), to bring them all in tune with core universal values and principles, and Divine Intent, so that we may finally establish equality, fairness, justice and lasting peace, and transform our "swords into plowshares."
However, it is no wonder that the work of the son of man has so far been rejected, as was prophesied by the prophets Isaiah and Jesus. Because even though it fulfills real prophecies (as distinguished from symbolic prophecies which were not meant to be taken literally), it is not what anyone expected.
That, however, is no wonder either, because many prophecies have been grossly misinterpreted and misunderstood due to the ethnocentric and egocentric notions of religious men who have historically and traditionally had a patriarchal, theocratic mind set that has very little to do with God. It has to do with patriarchal rulership, and control.
The modern son of man was duty-bound to tell you that there are many misguided religious denominations, sects and factions, and whether they claim to be Christians or Muslims or Jews, or anything else, they are unwittingly deluded by group egotism and group self-righteousness, and by a group superiority complex that causes them to think only they know God and everyone else is "godless." Their group delusion reflects the self-delusion of their leaders. Their particular "brand" of religion gives them a strong sense of empowerment and faith, but it is false and really serves only to alienate and separate them from the rest of society and humanity. Thus they are the "blind led by the blind," as Jesus put it, and their idea of religion is not true religion.
The truth is that real and true religion serves to unite people with a universal sense of kinship, enabling us to relate to all human beings on the face of the earth as brothers and sisters in spirit, as one family of Humanity.
One of the most humble and genuine spiritual teachers we know of, Stephen Gaskin, puts it this way: "Religion is a generic term for how we relate to our universe and how God and our universe relate to us. There shouldn’t be anything deeper than your religion. Your religion is how you really get along with folks — not what you may claim your religion is."
Stephen also says: "There’s a religion that is perfect and true and has no errors in it, and all man-made religions are unsuccessful attempts to copy that religion. It exists unwritten in the hearts of the people."
We agree with that, and with a lot of what Stephen says. However, unlike Stephen, the son of man says that perfect and true religion does exist in the original meaning and at the heart and core of all religions. In fact, true religion is what the best prophets and all the Avatars, Buddhas, Christs, Sages, and all other self-realized and enlightened teachers intended and tried to bring into the world.
But, unfortunately, in most cases, ethnocentric and/or egocentric followers, whether unwittingly or by design, have distorted and even negated those attempts by turning many organized religions and many of their denominations, factions, sects and cults into something else. They fall far short of what was originally intended by those who founded their religions, and short of what was intended by the divinely inspired followers who lovingly and progressively tried to improve their religions. Instead, the false or misleading doctrines of men crept in, and took over. That’s why a new reformation of religions is needed.
The trouble is that most of humanity has the wrong idea about what God is. The tendency has been and still is for men to think that God is an almighty, omnipotent, ethereal superman. And some religious people even think "God Himself" will come to rule the world as an Almighty Super-Man-God. But, if that were true, it would have happened already, and the world would not be as it is. If God had that capability, God would not have allowed countless innocent men, women and children to suffer or starve or be harmed or killed.
Part of the reason for the misunderstanding is because some scriptures tend to ascribe personhood and even gender to God, for lack of a better way to describe it. Some authors of scriptures even claim God "spoke" to them. The truth, however, is that God and the Spirit of truth communicates to human beings through divine revelation, from within, when we least expect it. And, while God is indeed almighty and omnipotent in certain ways, it is because God is the Divine Light-Energy-Source of our existence, the unseen but omnipresent, eternal Supreme Consciousness, and the primordial "Word" which was in the beginning and is made flesh in all of us and manifested in all life and form.
Many people are also confused about God’s "Will." Some think it is whatever occurs, but while God’s angels can and do perform miracles in certain situations and under certain circumstances when it is possible, in many cases that is not possible. And the destructive events that happen not God’s "Will." Much of what occurs is simply due to the careless and foolish actions of Man, or due to natural geological events, and have nothing to do with God.
For example, scientists, tsunami experts, epidemiologist, climatologists, oceanographers and vulcanologists have concluded that the story of God "parting the Red Sea" for Moses was not literally true as we’ve been led to believe, because the "parting" of the sea was caused by a massive volcanic eruption on the Greek island of Santorini which generated a giant tsunami or tidal wave that struck the Nile Delta, and that the ash fallout generated a chain of disastrous events that caused the following "plagues."
Modern disasters are caused by natural geological events in the same way, but they are now especially caused by the careless and foolish actions of Man, because this world is one interdependent ecosystem and organism which Man has polluted and made foul. Also, when there is widespread human suffering, or suffering of any species, it causes many negative effects on, around, and within this planet.
That is why proper judgment is needed and was prophesied. But the actual fulfillment of prophecy is up to you. It won’t happen without you, because it is dependent on humanity’s collective need for and recognition of divine intervention, and it’s apparent that most people in the world will let things just keep getting worse and worse before they seek the truth and get the message. That’s why the prophets like Isaiah and Jesus foresaw that this message would be rejected by my generation while most of humanity suffers from the terrible tribulation we’ve been going through.
Even so, God does answer individual prayers when possible. In fact, the power of prayer is significant. But, as Jesus said, prayers work best when made in private to our God who hears in private, and in secret to our God who hears in secret. That is why Jesus also advised that we "not pray for the ears of men, as hypocrites do." (And by the way, speaking of private prayer in secret, it is worthy of note that recent scientific research reveals that it actually works, which is why Jesus recommended it. In his book Prayer Is Good Medicine, Larry Dossey, M.D., cites such research and also reveals that the religion of the person praying does not matter. In fact, it matters not if they are religious at all. What matters is that we pray to God, who "hears" all.)
Unfortunately, spiritually blind men who regard themselves as religious do not realize that. They pray for the ears of men, and confuse God’s Will with their own will. They believe they are good judges of what is good and what is evil, and they even think they know what should be done about it. But they don’t realize they unwittingly indulge in the "forbidden fruit" of the mind. That is, they indulge in judgmental egotism, and thus they play god-as-patriarch and theocrat, when they actually betray God/Allah and they know not what they do.
However, in due time the message from the Spirit of truth will be accepted and spread all over the world. It will liberate humanity from all those proud and aggressive people who want to judge and rule over us in the name of God and Country, and it will establish the new covenant of God with humanity.
Because we say such things, some critics claim that we too are theocrats. But nothing could be further from the truth. The God the son of man witnessed has nothing to do with theocracy, and wants us to have complete religious freedom and freedom from religious bigotry. We believe we must have secular government, with a Jeffersonian wall of separation between religion and government, and government must respect all legitimate religions, and all agnostics and atheists as well. We discuss things in religious terms only because humanity should know the truth, and because Jews, Christians and Muslims must be corrected, for God’s sake, and for the sake of humanity.
The message the son of man has delivered establishes that all human beings are equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, which include the rights to life; liberty; equality; public safety; justice; public education (including higher education); universal public health care; international and domestic tranquility; fair, equitable and adequate compensation for their labor; prosperity; adequate social security income for those who actually need it (so that no one suffers from poverty, hunger, or homeless-ness); and real freedom in the pursuit of happiness. And this will be easy to accomplish when everyone shares the wealth fairly, and when the wealthy pay a reasonable and fair share of taxes.
The message will establish equality of religions and nations and states. It will correct those who are mis-guided and in conflict because they fight for power over each other. It will make the borders of men far less important. It will stop, and from thereon prevent, rule by the wealthiest few. It proposes a better way to choose leadership. It enables humble and blessed peacemakers to bring us all together, reconcile those who have been in conflict, address grievances, and ensure justice, equity, equality, peace, and tranquility. It enables governments to actually be of, by and for all the people, represent and protect all the people, and respect all religions. In other words, it enables the humble and meek to unite, inherit the earth, and do what needs to be done.
The very basic crux of the message is true to the core universal values and principles that all religions and nations and states should honor and abide by. And it’s not necessarily "religious." It’s just good common sense.
That is, we should treat all other people -- other individuals, races, religions, religious sects, cultures, nations and political organizations -- as we would want to be treated if we were them. That is the golden rule and the universal divine imperative. And the message fully explains how and why so many political and religious leaders have ignored that.
There are other core universal values and principles related to the universal divine imperative, and even though they may seem unrealistically idealistic in today's world, they will in time be common humanitarian values. And when they are honored by all political and religious leadership and all other influential people, they will create harmony and peace in the world.
These values, principles and ideals are resonant with the wisdom shared throughout history by all truly enlightened teachers of divine, eternal, universal truths. All religions should honor them because they are innate and self-evident truths, as we all know deep in our hearts and souls.
That is why there will be a reformation of religions, because all religions and religious sects should respect each other, and they should honor, abide by and teach the universal divine imperative as the core value and principle, just as their founders and wisest followers advised.
Religion should be a uniting, peaceful, loving influence, not the opposite, and government should be able to deal appropriately with false religious movements that are not.
We, the people, should not tolerate harmful organizations or parties or sects that divide and alienate people, lead them astray, and pit them against others. Hatemongers and warmongers should be exposed. We cannot prevent anyone from having malicious and harmful thoughts and beliefs, and we cannot stop them from peaceful assembly. However, we certainly can stop them if they incite their flocks to act out in ways that are harmful. Even though we need real freedom of speech to speak truth, voice dissent, criticize those in power and expose wrong doing, hatemongers and warmongers should not be able to claim it is "free speech" to mislead, exploit and incite people to do violence and harm to others.
However, when we give government power, we must ensure that government is good, just, and fair, and that it is truly of, by and for the people. And, in order to have good government, all citizens must be enabled to have equal voice and equal opportunity to freely choose who they want to represent them at the highest level of their national and state government.
That is why there must be a reformation of government as suggested in The 21st Century Declaration of Independence, because we do not now have equal voice or equal opportunity to do that. Our choices are very limited, often difficult, and not really very free.
In order to have equal voice and equal opportunity, and to ensure that the vast majority of people are truly represented, citizens should be able to exercise the right to name their choices of leaders by write-in ballot at least every seven years. The results of such honest and free elections would determine the membership of executive councils comprised of twelve people, six men and six women, who would serve as the guiding authority of the executive branch of national and state governments.
Executive Councils thus elected would replace partisan, monarchial chief executives, and put an end to partisan political conflict and division. It would put an end to competition for power, and abuse of partisan power or sovereign power.
To ensure equality and fairness, there should be no paid political advertisements or campaigns. All political advocacy should be presented as public service announcements made in public forums, and broadcast time and print space should be provided free of charge by the media. Advocates could recommend potential candidates and list their good works, but political advocacy should be very brief and positive, and offensive negativity should be prohibited, especially if it is regarding those with opposing views. The people should consider the merits of all positive points of view, and then choose accordingly, and freely.
However, the people could and should try to draft good people who do not seek office and have no advocates. In fact, the ideal would be for the people to be represented by those who are wise but modest, humble, unassuming and unpretentious. And it is crucial that everyone ignore all the self-important, aggressive, contentious, partisan ideologues who have divided us and fostered so much hate and conflict.
But, even though it would be best to draft the best people who are humble and do not seek power, the people would be free and able to name whoever has wisdom they greatly admire and respect. And, of those named and nominated by the people, the top six men and top six women who accept the responsibility would be elected, and they could serve on the executive council as long as the people re-elect them.
The executive council of six men and six women chosen and elected by the most people could then choose, by consensus, a facilitator and a spokesperson. But no council member should have any more authority or decision-making power than the others. Decisions should be made by consensus, ideally, and otherwise by at least two-thirds majority. And with our electronic communications capabilities, they could be in touch with each other at all times, wherever they are in the world.
This system of choosing leadership and making executive decisions would put an end to the conflict and division caused and perpetuated by partisan politics and competition for the throne of a chief executive head of state or governor or mayor, etc. It would stop the abuse of power by the monarchial imperial presidency. It can provide government that is as close as possible to government of, by and for the people. And, if the people choose wisely and are not tempted and misguided by divisive influences, we can have a government that unites us and serves us all.
As for the Congress, State Legislatures, City Councils and other similar bodies, they could remain much as they are, at least in terms of basic organization. But we could do away with all the negative, partisan, divisive aspects. Instead of having primary elections with campaigns based on partisan politics and rivalry between opposing parties and adversaries, we could simply have one general election to choose from a field of equal and independent candidates.
We could choose people who we think would best represent us, who seek to further a just cause and/or a positive constructive agenda. We could simply ignore any die-hard partisan political warriors who don’t get it and still want to fight and dominate over those who disagree with them. We could choose wisely instead, and elect legislative, policy-making bodies made up of fair-minded people who simply want to put their heads together and serve as equals to create truly good government, with good policies, rules, regulations and laws that will benefit all of us, protect all of us, and serve all of us.
This would be the fulfillment of real prophecy, for it is God's will that all human beings be equal joint heirs to God's new world kingdom, where the people shall all "share the throne" of each nation and state by exercising their right to free choice, and where only the Holy One in heaven reigns Supreme over all.
Of course, in a thousand years the people of Earth may come to forget or ignore what had produced universal peace and prosperity in the world for so long, and new false prophets and deceptive, divisive leaders may seek and rise to power, leading their blind flocks to believe that their idea of religion and/or their political ideology is superior.
But, they will enjoy power for but a short time, because this work will quickly re-emerge even stronger. It will remind the people of the core universal truths, and equality will quickly be restored. For by that time humanity will be far more advanced, not only physically and materially, but spiritually, and from then on the people of Earth will never again be tempted and divided by deluded, power-hungry, egocentric men, or by evil that masquerades as good.
So, you see, the truth is good news, because the future will not be as some pessimistic and cynical fiction writers have portrayed it in their books and movies. It will not be a perfect or heavenly utopia, because we are only human and we learn from our mistakes. But it will be far better than it is now.
The people of Earth will generally be at peace, because all people will be able to live abundantly. Idealism will flourish, and cooperation and collaboration will be the common mode of operation. All national and state governments will ensure and protect the collective equality, safety, education, prosperity, health, well being, welfare, tranquility, and happiness of all the people.
That is the dream that will begin to come true as soon as the message from the Spirit of truth is spread all over the world, and as soon as the people in every country stand up to be counted in favor of establishing this new covenant.
